In response to the announcement from the government of Québec on relaxing restrictions on allowing people to play at online casinos in Québec, Loto-Québec has issued a similar announcement on the reopening of several of their land-based casino venues on the 28th of February.
The specific venues that will be opening on the 28th are the Charlevoix, Lac-Leamy, and Montreal casinos, along with the gaming rooms in Quebec City and Trois-Rivières. The crown corporation have been busy with the pursual into the upcoming online gambling in Manitoba. They also have have heaps of video lottery terminals located in bars across Quebec which will be brought back online along with Kinzo operations. The Casino de Mont-Tremblant will reopen its doors to bettors a bit later in March 3.
The lifting of restrictions comes as the Quebec government announces a plan to get out of the current lockdown situation. Quebec has been blessed with having some excellent online casinos like Jackpot City Casino Canada that cater for French speakers. However, now it is time to push forward with a plan, that will ensure that they reach a state where the population can “learn to live with Covid” over the long term, rather than a plan that will simply get them out of the current lockdown situation. Restaurants, house parties, and bars are among the places where the government is presently proposing adjustments to the restrictions.
As such, health and safety protocols will be strictly enforced at all of Loto-Québec’s venues.
Entry regulations, such as vaccination passports and necessary facial coverings, remain the same regardless of the establishment’s hours of operation. Employees working on the live casino floor area are also required to adhere to these regulations.
A statement from the Minister of Health and Social Services, Christian Dubé, has announced that the requirement for vaccination passports, as well as the wearing of protective clothing, would be in place indefinitely. Although the total capacity of each casino will be limited to 50% of its total capacity, theatres will be able to operate at 100% of their maximum capacity as long as all health regulations are met.
The number of persons admitted to hospitals has decreased by more than 1,000 in the previous three weeks, which is one of the primary reasons for taking such strong action. Almost all public health restrictions will be lifted by the middle of March, according to the Quebec government.
