At the end of a lengthy process, gaming software supplier IGT (International Game Technology) has gained responsible gambling accreditation from the Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4) for their sports betting division.
With this accreditation, IGT has now achieved responsible gambling accreditation on all of the company’s software offerings—casino gaming, lottery, digital software solutions, and now sports betting—which it serves to online casinos around the world.
The accreditation process with G4, to summarise, requires that the applying firm prove that it is able to comply with a stringent code of practice. Said code of practice encompasses rules around responsible gambling policies, player protection, advertising guidelines, and employee training.
For its gaming activities, G4 awarded IGT its first responsible gambling accreditation in 2017, which was followed up by a second accreditation in 2019 for its digital solutions. In addition, the supplier’s lottery and iLottery operations have also been certified by the World Lottery Association.
“G4 applauds IGT for making responsible gaming a top priority across all of its business verticals,” said Pieter Remmers, Chairman of the Board at G4.
“G4 appreciates having IGT as an accredited member and it’s good to see the company leading the gaming industry with its responsible gaming initiatives.”
“IGT’s proactive approach to responsible gaming and achieving prestigious G4 certifications sets the pace for the entire industry to go above and beyond what state regulation mandates when it comes to player protection,” said Joe Asher, President of Sports Betting at IGT.
“As sports betting continues its expansion across the US, IGT is actively demonstrating it is now more important than ever to exercise strong responsible gaming support. We are honoured to be the first industry supplier to achieve sports betting responsible gaming accreditation and we look forward to working with our customers to implement our best-in-class solutions for the players.”
