In a press release, American slot game developer Armadillo Studios announced their acquisition of a license to operate in the newly-regulated Ontario gaming market.
Armadillo Studios will operate within the context of the new regulated gambling rules, which are intended to ensure the safety of players as well as the long-term viability of the industry as a whole.
In a major shift in tone from previously-established legislation, Ontario recognizes the present market realities while also providing an appropriate safety net for gamblers who are at danger of becoming addicted. Given the size of the addressable market in the province, Ontario has become one of the hottest new battlegrounds for the online casino market.
Unlike the approach taken in the US, Ontario’s iGaming market has no limits on the number of operators and suppliers that can apply for a license in the province.
Armadillo Studios COO David Stoveld expressed his excitement towards the news. “It has always been clear that Canada prioritizes keeping entertainment and safety in check, from environmental control to alcohol consumption, and I would expect no different from real money online gambling.”
Armadillo Studios, based in Miami, Florida, was founded in 2021 with the goal of creating content for the United States market. Following the release of its first three slot game titles and the formation of a new relationship with the well-known Brazilian mixed martial artist Amanda Nunes, the company is now prepared to provide gaming content to the Canadian market.
All of Armadillo Studios' slot games are now available through a simple integration with SlotMatrix, EveryMatrix's pure B2B aggregation platform that houses the world's largest collection of gaming content (as measured by revenue).
