The GG Poker Network has joined forces with the World Series of Poker or WSOP to launch a new online poker casino room in Ontario ahead of the province’s iGaming market opening in April 2022.
The launch of the venture, which will be known as WSOP.CA, is supported by the parent company of the World Series of Poker, Caesars Entertainment; however, it is still subject to the completion of a working agreement with the province of Ontario.
Members of the Caesars Rewards loyalty program who sign up during the launch period will be eligible for a slew of bonuses and sign-up promotions, as well as the opportunity to participate in other promotions. The VIP bonus program allows players to earn points while placing bets, which can then be redeemed for free hotel stays, free food and beverage options, and free gaming experiences at Caesars Entertainment properties.
Existing players on the GGPoker website, meanwhile, will be able to transfer their accounts over to WSOP.CA once the site goes live.
According to Daniel Negreanu, Global Ambassador of GGPoker, “As a proud Ontario native, I’m thrilled that poker’s two greatest brands have come together to launch WSOP.CA and offer the Ontario poker community the perfect place to play a game of poker. You’ll be seeing exclusive WSOP rewards and tournaments, running on GGPoker’s amazing app – what’s not to love about that?”
“This partnership combines the best poker brand with the top poker software, and we’re thrilled to launch this online poker room for Ontario players,” said Ty Stewart, Executive Director of the World Series of Poker. “We look forward to seeing Ontarians qualify for the live WSOP in Las Vegas this summer and challenge native son Daniel Negreanu for a gold bracelet.”
A large number of operators and suppliers have already received their licenses ahead of the Ontario online gambling market opening later this April, with names such as Gaming Realms, the Bragg Gaming Group, 888 Casino Holdings, and PointsBet being a part of this growing list. The addition of WSOP.CA will only serve to boost casino options in Canada.
